Growing up is hard workTotally enjoyed the two party point of view。 It is really nice not to have to guess who is talking。 I wish other authors did this。 This is a very good continuation of the series。 It is great to see characters grow and change。
Christopher Edward,
Always brilliantNormally I only read books on Kindle Unlimited, but for Chris I am happy to buy his books。 He is a great author and never releases a book that is less than 5 stars。 This series, among with his Schooled In Magic series are all some of the best fantasy books ever written。
Anita,
Once again Chris has shown that he hasn’t mastered how to immediately hook his audience into the story and as usual most of his plots always center around how “evil” the aristocracy is … I don’t really have a problem with showing how those in power often abuse the power, but it would be nice not to always paint such a bleak picture and to show at least some of the powerful that aren’t interested in world dominance or I don’t know, maybe a plot on something else totally? As for the two POV’s, I do Once again Chris has shown that he hasn’t mastered how to immediately hook his audience into the story and as usual most of his plots always center around how “evil” the aristocracy is … I don’t really have a problem with showing how those in power often abuse the power, but it would be nice not to always paint such a bleak picture and to show at least some of the powerful that aren’t interested in world dominance or I don’t know, maybe a plot on something else totally? As for the two POV’s, I do think this worked for this story because too much of Akin and/or Isabella isn’t a good thing。 Akin is to wishy washing and Isabella is not a likable character, until the end, then she redeems herself and finally grows up。 As for Louise’s story, bah, just another unlikeable character。 I wouldn’t mind a story about her working with some of the mover’s and shakers to enact changes but I’m sure Chris will just twist it so that it only shows that the powerful only works in their own self-interest when the truth is that everyone works in their own self-interest。Hopefully the next books in the series will be from Cat’s POV, it has been too long not to tell her story again … and then I can put this series/world to bed。 。。。more
